United Way proceeds for the above allocation year

- ARC of Pike County (Association for Retarded Citizens) - Provides leadership and programs for persons afflicted by mental
retardation and their family caregivers, including training that will lead to greater independence and self actualization
- Camp
Speers-Eljabar YMCA, Summer Camp Program - Provides day camping and resident camping to children of Pike County
who otherwise would not be able to afford camp, permitting parents to remain in the work force during summer months.
- Catholic Social Services, Adolescent Anger Management
Program - Provides for development of an adolescent
anger management program.
- CDD (Center for Developmental Disabilities) - Provides educational, therapeutic and referral services for special
needs children, from birth through age 5, as well as their families.
- Good Shepherd Child Care Center, Special Programs - Provides programming for special needs children in extended daycare
and respite programs who cannot find care in the traditional setting.
- GAIT (Genuine Alternative In Therapy) - Promotes physical, mental and emotional well being for disabled
children and adults through structured interaction with animals, specifically therapeutic equine programs.
- Habitat for Humanity
- Provides programs to alleviate homelessness and provide adequate housing for those in need.
- Holy Trinity Food Pantry
- Provides supplemental pantry services to help meet basic food needs of Pike County families in low income situations
who could not otherwise obtain sufficient nutrition.
- PASS (Pike Autism Support Service) - Provides support and information to families of children with autism.
- Penn
State Cooperative Extension, Parenting Program - Provides mandated and non-mandated parenting classes, with concentration
in mandated programs.
- Pike County Developmental Center (PCDC) - Provides training for developmentally challenged adults to enhance
their lives and help them reach greater independence.
- Pike County Emergency Reserve Fund - Established by the United Way of Pike County board of Directors, as recommended
by the Allocations committee. This is to fund emergency situations that might occur during the year. This means
disaster relief, such as fire, storm, epidemic or other unforeseen events that could have damaging effects to one
or more citizen groups within Pike County, Such funds will be available only if requested by a 501©3 organization
with a specific plan of action. If the entire $5,000 is not used in any fiscal year, it will be rolled over and
replenished to the $5,000 level, so that the disaster relief fund always begins its year fully funded.
- Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council, Adult Training and Education - Programs to train adults who, in turn, teach girl scouts about
the importance of community service and how to set and achieve personal goals for performing lifelong successful
community service.
- Survivors'
Resources - Provides direct services to victims
of domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Wayne-Pike Adult Literacy
- Provides training for basic learning skills and one on one reading instruction.
