On October 22nd, at the Annual Chef’s United Dinner, the United Way of Pike County presented the 2014 Leadership Award to Patrick Kiesendahl. Matthew Osterberg, Pike County Commissioner and UWPC Board Member presented the award. He explained to the crowd that Patrick has served on the United Way Board of Directors for 6 years and currently is the Board President. “We are very fortunate to have Patrick as our Board President; he has been a great leader for our organization and he is a great motivator. Patrick is very committed to the United Way mission to alleviate hunger and homelessness here in Pike County. His willingness to help others in need really shines through at all of our events. On behalf of the United Way Board Members, we thank Patrick for his many years of service.” stated Matthew Osterberg, Pike County Commissioner and UWPC Board Member.

When we reached out to the United Way Executive Director, Catherine Capasso and asked her to comment on the award she stated, “It has been my pleasure to work with Patrick Kiesendahl. Over the last six years, Patrick has displayed great leadership qualities and communication skills in leading the organization. He has been instrumental in creating awareness for the United Way mission and raising money for folks struggling to have the basic necessities in life. Patrick possesses a great creative energy and the ability to inspire others. Patrick coordinated our Annual Day of Caring with 350 students this year and to see the spirit of volunteerism among our youth was amazing. Patrick has expressed an interest in being more active with our youth and is hoping to be part of our local school board at some point in the future. I believe that he would be an asset to the school board, he truly is a shining star!”
