|
The Pike County Commissioners announced a resolution declaring Pike County's celebration of National Volunteer Week. The resolution celebrating people in action publicly acknowledged and expressed gratitude to all Pike County volunteers and recognized that they have benefited the community through their generously donated time and efforts.
Commissioner Richard Caridi said, "We are very happy to salute Pike County volunteers. They are an important part of this community and make it a better place for all of us to enjoy." UWPC President Christine Kerstetter added, "The United Way of Pike County is pleased to have the support of the Pike County Commissioners in this effort to recognize and thank all of our community's volunteers. We are very grateful for all their hard work and selflessness."
This year National Volunteer Week is April 19-April 25. This presents an opportunity for individual families, non profit organizations, and government entities alike, to celebrate the ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things through service.
